Audio by Daniel Sykora

     Slovakian born, Canadian raised composer and sound designer Daniel Sykora fell into composing music/sounds for film and video games accidentally. Nothing was quite as fun to Daniel Sykora at the age of 14 than playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and listening to radio stations as he drove around the city committing crimes. It was this very game that led him to pick up a guitar and rock out to some Iron Maiden songs which sure enough led to playing bass guitar, acoustic bass, trumpet, piano, and violin. Along the way Daniel played in string, concert band, jazz, rock, and pop ensembles, thereby gaining knowledge of classical, jazz, pop, and traditional Slavic music among other genres. Not only video games, but also movies like “The Bourne Identity” really showed Daniel that whether sparse or full on, audio has a huge impact in creating all kinds of emotions.

Daniel spends most of his time creating music/sounds for video games and is particularly skilled in composing orchestral music along with audio experiences that enhance gameplay.

Daniel also has a passion for cooking and believes that making great sound is like making great food: “Having too many ingredients can be too much for the listener to digest all the time, sometimes a stronger message can be sent with less ingredients.”

Earning a Bachelors of Music from the prestigious Humber College in Toronto  has polished Daniel’s musical, audio, technical and production skills to ensure each project has a unique and memorable sound.

After the family dog, Lola, goes to Doggie Heaven, Beth and Dave are officially empty nesters. Footloose and fancy free, they decide to go on a last-minute getaway to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Things take a sudden turn when their adult kids – with partners and kids in tow – arrive on their doorstep for a surprise visit.
